BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- For the second time in six days, the Adirondack Phantoms coughed up a lead on the road as they fell to Bridgeport 5-3 on Sunday in front of a crowd of 4,142 at Webster Arena at Harbor Yard.

Jason Akeson's second goal of the game gave the Phantoms a 2-1 lead 2:48 into the third period. But it was all Bridgeport from there. The Sound Tigers (9-7-2-0) scored the next three goals, including the equalizer less than a minute later to build a 4-2 lead.

Oliver Lauridsen's first professional goal cut it to 4-3 with 7:31 remaining in the game, but the Sound Tigers added an empty-net goal to set the final score.

The Phantoms had led Portland 2-0 on Tuesday before giving up four unanswered in that one and falling 4-2.

The Phantoms were 6-0 against Bridgeport since moving to Glens Falls before this loss.

Michael Leighton made 21 saves on 25 shots and lost his third straight start.

Akeson, a rookie, continued his red-hot stretch of late. He has goals in three straight games and points in five in a row. He has four goals and three assists during that span.

Akeson had a late breakaway with a chance to tie the game, but Bridgeport goalie Keith Poulin made the save.

Mike Testwuide had three assists for the Phantoms.

After registering a season-high 42 shots in a win over Syracuse on Saturday, the Phantoms mustered just 22 on Sunday.

A win would have given the Phantoms (9-6-0-1) a tie for first place in the Northeast Division. As it stands, two points separates all five team in the division with the Phantoms in last with 19 standings points.

Loose pucks: Defenseman Kevin Marshall returned to the lineup after being a scratch in Saturday's game. Forwards Luke Pither and Shane Harper were also scratched. ... The Phantoms played with seven defensemen and 11 forwards.
