MANCHESTER, N.H. — Zac Lynch scored a power-play goal 13 seconds into overtime as Manchester beat the Adirondack Thunder 3-2 on Friday night.
The Thunder had tied the game at 2 on Brian Ward’s power-play goal 8:13 into the third period. But Ward took an interference penalty late in the period that carried over into OT, and Lynch scored not long after the opening faceoff.
This was the first of three games for the Thunder this weekend. Adirondack returns to Cool Insuring Arena to play Reading on Saturday night, then hosts Wheeling on Sunday afternoon.
Desmond Bergin got the Thunder off on the right foot with a goal 3:06 into the game. But Manchester’s Colton Saucerman scored midway through the second period and Matt Schmalz gave the home team a 2-1 lead early in the third.
Drew Fielding was in goal for the Thunder, making 25 saves on 22 shots. Terrence Wallin had two assists for the Thunder.
