GLENS FALLS — Eleven forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies will make up the season-opening roster for the Adirondack Thunder on Saturday night.
There is a fair amount of experience on the Thunder. Eleven of the 21 players on the roster played with the team last season. Nineteen of the 21 players have played at the ECHL level in their professional careers. Seven also have played in the AHL.
Forwards making the team were Troy Bourke, JC Campagna, Tim Harrison, James Henry, Ty Loney, Pierre-Luc Mercier, Eric Neiley, Austin Orszulak, Paul Rodrigues, Terrence Wallin and Brian Ward.
Of those returning, Henry is the top scorer, with 54 points last season. Ward had 49 and Loney had 40.
Defensemen on the team are Desmond Bergin, Mike Bergin, Tim Boyle, Bo Driscoll, Stephen Johnson, Kevin Lough, Conor Riley and Nick Trecapelli. Lough played 51 games with the Thunder last season, and Riley appeared in 41.
The goalies are Ken Appleby and Nick Riopel.
“It’s going to be an exciting game we play,” head coach Brad Tapper said. “We have two goalies who can do the job, we have some centermen who can win faceoffs and we’ve got some good D and forwards.
“The forwards are really deep,” Tapper added. “It’s making a hard decision for us who’s in the lineup and who’s not.”
Adirondack opens its third ECHL season at home Saturday against Brampton (7 p.m.).
