KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Adirondack Thunder jumped out to a two-goal lead Saturday night, then finished with three unanswered goals for a 5-2 ECHL victory over the Kalamazoo Wings, their third straight road win.
Austin Orszulak netted back-to-back goals in a five-minute span of the second period to give the Thunder a 4-2 lead. They were Orszulak’s first two goals of the season with Adirondack.
Ty Loney scored on assists from Shane Conacher and Kevin Lough 34 seconds into the third period to complete Adirondack’s scoring.
In the first period, Pierre-Luc Mercier scored a shorthanded goal on an assist from James Henry, then assisted on Henry’s goal six minutes later to give the Thunder a 2-0 edge.
Connor Ingram went the distance in goal for the Thunder, collecting 25 saves.
Adirondack is scheduled to play Sunday in Brampton, Ontario, against the Beast at 2 p.m.
