WARNERVILLE — The Warrensburg wrestling team rolled to a 5-0 record and the championship of the Battle in the Valley dual-meet tournament on Saturday at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School.

The Burghers had several wrestlers finish unbeaten on the day. Going 5-0 were Zack Davis (138 pounds), Greg Shambo (152), Dan Monthony (170), Nolan McNeill (182), Jack Binder (220) and Tanner McKenna (99). Going 4-1 were Dylan Winchell (106), Zach Shambo (126), Trevor Winchell (132), Hunter McKenna (145) and Gary Hill (285).

Warrensburg, which improved to 11-0 overall, defeated Coxsackie-Athens (70-9), Cobleskill (59-21), Mohonasen (60-19), Cicero-North Syracuse (60-17) and Fonda-Johnstown (74-9). Jack Binder won his 100th match.

Corinth takes third: Corinth’s Alec Richards went 5-0 at 113-120 pounds to earn Lightweight Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the Schalmont Sabre Duals.

The Tomahawks’ Nate Warrington (170) also went 5-0, and teammates Devlin Blanchard (99), Curtis Rigley (132) and Conor Eversole (145-152) went 4-1.

As a team, Corinth finished in third place with a 3-2 record, beating Albany (50-36), Schalmont (34-33) and Lansingburgh (54-23), and losing to team champ Galway (54-29) and runner-up Shaker (48-42).
