OXFORD — Trevor Robbins was Queensbury’s lone champion Saturday as the Spartans placed third in the 14-team Clyde Cole Invitational at Oxford Academy.
Robbins took first at 120 pounds to lead the Spartans, who finished with 197 team points to finish behind Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton (264) and Shenendehowa (247).
Placing second for Queensbury were Ryan Sleezer (113 pounds), Dom Nassivera (182) and Nico Mattia (195). Finishing third were Kaiden LaLuna (106) and Dylan Sleezer (113), while fourth-place finishers were John Brady (132), Dan Brady (138) and Seth Guay (220).
Corinth takes third
BERNE — Four Corinth wrestlers captured weight-class titles Saturday as they helped the Tomahawks to a third-place finish in the Bulldog Invitational at Berne-Knox High School.
Devlin Blanchard (99 pounds), John Freebern (106), Alec Richards (113) and Sam Tromblee (138) all took first for Corinth, which finished third behind Holland Patent and Catskill in the team scoring. Nate Warrington was runner-up at 170, while Mark Ellis (126) took third and Conor Eversole (145) was fourth.
