LOCH SHELDRAKE — Schuylerville senior Orion Anderson was the lone area wrestler to reach the quarterfinals of the Eastern States Classic on Friday at SUNY Sullivan.

Anderson, the two-time defending state champion, defeated Jamesville-DeWitt’s Tyler Kellison 9-3 to reach the 126-pound quarterfinals, set for Saturday. Anderson will face Dove Bonjean-Alpart of Poly Prep.

South Glens Falls freshman Brock Delsignore was the only other local wrestler to reach the third round of wrestlebacks.

Wrestling at 120 pounds, Delsignore won his first two matches before dropping a 3-2 loss to Hilton’s Ryan Burgos on an escape in the final minute. Delsignore defeated his next opponent to advance to Saturday’s first consolation round of eight against Victor Perlleshi of Pleasantville.

Hadley-Luzerne/Lake George’s Logan Duers (145) won his first two matches before falling 9-2 to Hunter Shaut of Central Valley Academy in the round of 16. He then fell in his first wrestleback to finish 2-2.

Going 1-2 in the tournament were Zac Cummings (113) of Salem-Cambridge, Schuylerville’s Xavier Jones (132), and H-L/LG’s Cody York (160) and Rich Conte (170), while H-L/LG’s Mike Sutliff (182) went 0-2.
