South Glens Falls senior running back K.J. Mickel was recently named Offensive Player of the Year for Class A football.

Mickel rushed for 797 yards and scored 12 touchdowns overall in helping the Bulldogs to a 5-4 record, their first winning season since 1992.

South High offensive lineman Don Lavarge, defensive end Griffen Curran and kick returner Dylan Schrammel were named to the All-Class A first team.

Class A sectional runner-up Queensbury placed several players on the first team. Named to the first-team offense for the Spartans were lineman JD Aspland and running back Patrick Conway. Chosen for the first-team defense from Queensbury were nose guard Dom Nassivera, defensive end Sean Collins, and defensive backs Liam O'Mara and Brendan Scott.
