Glens Falls junior quarterback/safety Joseph Girard III was recently named the Class B North football Player of the Year.

Girard led the Indians to an 11-1 record as he passed for 1,863 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, and he heads up an all-star team loaded with Glens Falls and Schuylerville players.

Glens Falls senior running back Aaron Sampson, who rushed for 1,147 yards and 19 touchdowns, was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year with Schuylerville junior quarterback Stratton Sherman. Sherman rushed for 500 yards and passed for 1,036 as he accounted for 25 touchdowns for the 8-2 Black Horses.

Glens Falls linebackers Dakota Trombley and Kyle Vachon were named the Class B North Co-Defensive Players of the Year. Schuylerville senior linebacker/running back Orion Anderson was chosen as All-Purpose Player of the Year.

Named to the Class B North first-team offense were Glens Falls receivers Quinn Girard and Aalijah Sampson, lineman Nick Danahy and placekicker Sam Hogan, along with running back Riley Maddison and linemen Ben Reid and Tiriq Minnix of Hudson Falls. Also chosen for the first-team offense were Schuylerville running backs Derek Willson and Paul Harshbarger, receiver Justin Carte, and linemen Thomas Donovan and Jared Thivierge.

Selected for the Class B North first-team defense were Glens Falls lineman Andrew Rizzo, linebacker David Barclay and defensive back Justin Holness, and Hudson Falls linemen Schyler Russell and Raven Carlisle, linebacker Trevor Hill and defensive back Brennan Prevost. Also named to the first-team defense were Schuylerville lineman Walter Taras, linebackers Matthew Peck and David Flanders, and defensive backs Jacob Vanderhoof and Carson Dunkel.
