GLENS FALLS — Lake George junior Graceann Bennett became the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer in girls basketball Wednesday in the Grandstanders Christmas Festival.

Bennett scored 23 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a 55-44 victory over Ogdensburg Free Academy.

Bennett came into the game needing 11 points to tie 2005 graduate Heather Merino for the Lake George girls scoring record. Bennett now has 1,320 career points, and also passed 1,000 rebounds for her career on Wednesday. She was already the school’s all-time leading rebounder.

“Those are well-earned numbers — she works extremely hard,” Lake George coach Rob Tefft said. “She has such a passion for the game, she brings the same approach every game. ... She challenges herself and always gives her full effort.”

Alysia Kane added 10 points for the 5-1 Warriors.Lake George plays Saratoga Springs on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the second round of the Grandstanders Christmas Festival.
