GLENS FALLS — Glens Falls junior Joseph Girard III scored 59 points Friday night — one short of his own school record — leading Glens Falls to a 104-71 Foothills Council boys basketball victory over Broadalbin-Perth.

It was the second straight night and fourth game in a row that Girard scored 50 or more points. It was also Girard’s fifth 50-plus game of the season and the sixth of his career.

Girard — who set the Section II career scoring record on Thursday night at Schuylerville — netted 20 field goals, including 11 3-pointers to nearly match the career-high of 12 that he made in Thursday’s game. He now has 2,751 points for his career.

As a team, the Indians scored 28 points in the first quarter and 34 in the second as they rolled to a 62-37 halftime lead over the Patriots.

Trent Girard added 18 points on six 3-pointers for Glens Falls, which improved to 9-1 in the league and 11-1 overall.
