Skidmore names new golf coach
SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Joshua Cupp has been named the new head men’s golf coach at Skidmore College.
Cupp had been the director of golf and head pro at the Rome Country Club in Rome, N.Y., since 2007. Before that, he was head women’s golf coach at Division I University of San Francisco for two seasons, improving the team’s national ranking from 82nd to 39th. Cupp was also head men’s golf coach at American University from 2002-05.
A 1996 graduate of Old Dominion University, Cupp was a two-time team MVP and earned All-Colonial Athletic Conference first-team honors as a senior. He spent several years on the professional circuit, winning 20 tournaments and earning more than $250,000. He was 1996 North Atlantic Tour champion and player of the year and played in the 2000 PGA Tour B.C. Open.
