HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Adirondack Phantoms twice coughed up one-goal leads as the Connecticut Whale rallied for a 4-3 victory in front of a crowd of 3,318 at the XL Center on Sunday.

It was the second game in a row the Phantoms lost after leading.

Adirondack (4-22-2-0) has lost three of its last five games by one goal.

Danny Syvret, Marc-Andre Bourdon and Luke Pither scored for the Phantoms.

Nic Riopel took the loss, falling to 0-5.

Before the game, the Phantoms recalled goalie Brian Stewart from Greenville of the ECHL. Michael Leighton rejoined the Phantoms.

The Phantoms led 1-0 and 2-1. But each time they surrendered the tying goal less than four minutes later.

After Bourdon's goal, his first of the season, gave the Phantoms a 2-1 lead in the second, Connecticut scored the next three goals, including two from Dale Wiese.

Pither gave the Phantoms life with a goal with 6:56 remaining, but the Phantoms couldn't get the equalizer.

Pither has scored in back-to-back games and has three goals in his last four games.

All of his career goals have come in the last nine games.

Loose pucks: Forward Michael Ryan rejoined the lineup after missing Saturday's game with an injury.
