Editor's Note: This story has been modified to show the correct deadline for teams to claim Leighton off waivers.

Michael Leighton stood for a team picture with the Adirondack Phantoms on Tuesday morning at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

It turned out to be his last act as a member of the Phantoms, and possibly his final bow as a member of the Philadelphia organization.

The Flyers put Leighton on re-entry waivers at noon in an attempt to bring him back to the NHL. Every team in the league will have a chance to claim him by noon Wednesday. If another team claims him, they will only be responsible for half his salary and he is ineligible to play until next season.

If Leighton goes unclaimed, he'll immediately join the Flyers, where he could start as early as Friday night, according to reports out of Philadelphia.

Leighton ends his Phantoms tenure with five shutouts, including two in a row. He went 14-12-3 with a 2.22 goals-against-average and .926 save percentage.

The Phantoms will have to add a goalie in time for Wednesday's game with Albany.
