Lt. Steven Stockdale is the commander of the Criminal Investigations Unit of the Warren County Sheriff's Office, which is responsible for the management of all felony cases investigated by the Sheriff's Office. A local police officer since 1995, Stockdale, who lives in Glens Falls, was promoted to patrol sergeant in 2005, a job he held through January 2008. He was appointed to supervise the agency's new Narcotics Enforcement Unit in January 2008, and he spent 3 1/2 years undercover working cases, which ranged from counter-narcotics to murder-for-hire. Stockdale was promoted to his present rank and assignment in April 2011. A New York State certified Master Police Instructor, Stockdale is certified in multiple topic areas, including hostage negotiation and crisis intervention, undercover operations and community oriented policing. A 2007 graduate of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Adirondack program, he sits on the board of directors for the Tri-County United Way and the Catholic Charities of Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties.
