Queensbury Town Supervisor John Strough is right and it's time for Doug Irish to resign. According to The Post-Star, "Doug has missed five very important and informative Town Board meetings since his last attended July 3 meeting." This is unacceptable and shouldn't be tolerated by the citizens of Queensbury. If the regular worker missed five days of work, they would be replaced and in this case, easily replaced. Politicians and public servants are getting leniency when it comes to competency and having privilege. If Mr. Irish wants to take a job in North Carolina, he should stay there and try to represent them, because obviously he isn't representing the people at the five meetings and probably more. If he stays, perhaps his pay as a board member should be docked, but it's better just for him to resign and allow George Ferone to be appointed, just as Supervisor Strough suggested. I believe this is why the citizens of Queensbury should re-elect John Strough for Queensbury supervisor! He is a thorough representative that will continue to provide oversight and accountability for the community. I hope that citizens of Queensbury write Mr. Irish and the local paper convincing him to resign as soon as possible.
