It is really annoying for the elderly on Social Security for the news to cover the great cost of living raise we will be getting.
It is never announced by the government that in truth we never get it. Last year, the cost of living rose a little over 1 percent; doesn't amount to much, but maybe an extra gallon of milk or loaf of bread. This year brought the biggest cost of living raise ever, a little over 2 percent. Now we are talking anywhere from $20 to $30 for some. Yes! However, we are not actually getting it again this year. Their letter informs us once again that due to cost of Medicare, we will not actually see it. In some cases, they will get anywhere from $1 to maybe $6 after they take the extra they need for Medicare.
I guess the big gripe is why make this great news announcement of how much they are going to give the seniors when in truth they are not giving it to them.
