This is in response to Ms. Snook, Bennison letter about Schroon.

These two ladies claim to be raised and educated in Schroon, but seem to know nothing about its history and the local folks. The two board members in question have contributed nothing for the good of the local, year-round people. They are the same two who opposed and delayed the town hall expansion of the courthouse and library project for years. They do not represent the local citizens only the foreigners and visitors. They need to be replaced. We need business friendly board members to help grow our town’s economy and create jobs.

As I have never heard of Snook or Bennison, I can only assume they were never part of the community while school kids, nor since. For my family, we have been here since the revolution. The Sage ladies, past and present, are members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. We have lived here long before the town of Schroon was ever thought of or formed. The Hammondville iron mines are part of our history. The original part of my house was built in the 1860s and has seen four generations of Sages. I, and my brothers and sisters, all attended and graduated from Schroon School. I would suggest Snook, Bennison get their facts straight about what goes on here in town instead of listening to the sugary bull these two members spout.

Don Sage, Paradox
