If, as it is alleged, there is corruption at the top echelon of the U.S. Department of Justice including the FBI, we must set aside our political differences and get to the bottom of this matter immediately. The DOJ/FBI is incapable of investigating themselves. The inspector general’s office that oversees the DOJ can investigate but lacks the power to prosecute, therefore there is a need for a totally independent special council to thoroughly investigate the corruption charges and prosecute those alleged offenders.
Until the DOJ is cleared of these charges, our third judicial branch of government is a “toothless tiger” and this is a very serious matter when dealing with the safety and security of all Americans.
