This letter is in response to the cartoon in the Friday, Nov. 17 paper. I found this to be personally offensive and an insult to all Christians.
The Nativity scene is a holy scene to those of us who believe in the birth of Jesus. Why link election events in Alabama with one of our most cherished holy days? It would have been more accurate to show the Ten Commandments since the person running for election is known for his stance in keeping the Ten Commandments on display in his courtroom.
There has been an increase in anti-Christian bigotry in the past 25 years. Your paper has just allowed that bigotry to be displayed. It rears its ugly head in or around December. Illustrations of hate such as this are never healing when love is what this world needs so badly.
