TICONDEROGA — The Ticonderoga Police Department has added a canine program to help deal with illegal drug issues in the region.
Ticonderoga Police Sgt. Dale Quesnel and his canine partner Tusko have recently completed training programs to become certified in narcotics enforcement, and Quesnel has become certified through the state as a police dog handler.
Police Chief Michael LaVallie said the department plans "to take an aggressive and proactive approach with all narcotics in this town. Canine Tusko will be used to the fullest extent."
LaVallie and the department thanked the Ticonderoga Town Board for supporting its programs.
