SARATOGA SPRINGS ♦ Saratoga Springs police were searching Sunday afternoon for a suspect in a stabbing that occurred in the city early Sunday morning, and left one man with multiple, non-life threatening wounds.
Police responded around 1:20 a.m. Sunday to a report of a 24-year-old man who had been stabbed on the west side of Broadway, across from Caroline Street. Police believe an altercation between two groups of men in the Paddock Lounge on Caroline Street resulted in the men being removed from the bar. The fight then spilled onto the street, where the man was stabbed, police said.
The suspect in the stabbing was last seen running from the scene with a group of other males, heading north on Broadway toward Church Street. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old. He is about six feet tall with short, dark hair, and was wearing a gray thermal long-sleeved shirt and jeans.
The injured man was treated at the scene by the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, before he was transported to Albany Medical Center early Sunday morning.
Police ask that anyone who was in the area and observed the altercation, or has information about the suspect, contact them at 584-1800 or on the anonymous tip line at 584-8477.
