Each year, South Glens Falls high school students pack their gymnasium full to bursting for a weekend to raise money for charities and people in their community. It's not about the money, yet each year, the students and the community manage to break their own fundraising records. This year was no different, as the South High Marathon Dance brought in $489,716.27 upping the total raised over 36 years to more than $3.5 million dollars.

Check out two days worth of images from this year's fundraiser.

This dance was amazing. I participated in this event and there is no better feeling then when the recipients share their stories and you find out the total amount of money everyone raised. It's truly the most memorable experience I have ever had.

I don't think there is any other word to use except "amazing"! Congrats to all the dancers and every person involved in making this marathon a success (year after year). The parents of the kids who made this happen should be very, very proud of what was accomplished this weekend.

    Truly amazing...

    To All,
IF that spirit and just plain goodness is not what all Americans are about than I dont what is.

Congrats to EVERY person,. business, and any and all associated with what I believe is the BEST event we have to offer in the North country.

Why couldn't it became contagious and every school to some degree do an event like this.? Play it forward. (Note many schools are doing great things to rasie money for the needy) but SGF is unbelievable.

Thanks for making so many proud of you.

Congratulations to all the students, faculty, and administration for this incredible accomplishment! It seems that there is no end to the generosity that our area will extend! Thank you to all the people that opened their pocketbooks, and wallets , in such a difficult economic time! You can all feel a great sense of pride, and of comfort, knowing that you have helped people that could not otherwise have helped themselves. This is nothing short of a minor miracle; pulled off by 800 caring, motivated, young adults; and this wonderful area that we live in! I hope the rest of the USA takes notice!
