GLENS FALLS — Every year, Peter Brock of Sam’s Diner on Dix Avenue runs a Small Business Challenge to raise funds for Operation Santa Claus.

This year, he is challenging himself to work with others and raise more than ever before.

“The goal is $28,000. This year I want to help 510 kids,” said Brock, whose fundraising pays for coats, hats and mittens for children who need them. “That’s even more than last year.”

Brock has already held a prime rib dinner to help raise funds, which raised $3,700. He has a lasagna dinner planned for next month.

Brock starts the fundraising with a $100 donation of his own and is challenging all local businesses to at least match it.
