MOREAU -- One man was taken to the hospital late this morning after a collision between a car and a flatbed truck at the intersection of Route 9 and Merritt Road.

According to New York State Trooper David Saddlemire, witnesses saw James E. Murphy, driving a sliver Mercury Sable, heading towards South Glens Falls in the northbound lane on Route 9 when he slumped over the steering wheel and veered into the southbound lane, striking the flatbed truck at about 10:39 a.m.

Murphy told Saddlemire that his vehicle locked up before striking the flatbed.

The truck was not heavily damaged, but the car sustained significant damage. Murphy was extricated from the viheicle and taken to Glens Falls Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Flatbed truck, Angelo DeLong, was not injured.

Emergency responders from the South Glens Falls Fire Department and Moreau EMS were on the scene.

Route 9 near the crash was re-opened at 11:35 a.m.
