QUEENSBURY -- The 74-year-old woman involved in an accident on Warren Street on Wednesday afternoon has died, police said.

Joyce L. Eggleston, of Glens Falls, was pronounced dead at Glens Falls Hospital after the car she was driving went off the right side of the road near Jerry Brown's Auto Parts and hit a sign and fire hydrant.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office said it appeared she had a medical problem that caused her to lose consciousness and her car to go off the road.

"Witnesses behind her said she slowly veered over, then accelerated into the street sign and fire plug," sheriff's Lt. Steve Stockdale said.

Eggleston did not suffer any significant injuries from the crash, but an autopsy that was conducted Thursday could not lead to a determination of a cause of death, according to police.
