GLENS FALLS — The business partners behind the Superior Cantina hope to have a new restaurant take over the space soon.

The restaurant at the corner of Bay and Maple streets closed on Nov. 19.

EDC Warren County President Edward Bartholomew said he has been in contact with business partners Gary Patton and Andrew Genovese, who lease the space from building owner Peter Hoffman.

“They are planning to reopen with a revised menu in a different style than Tex-Mex is what I understand,” he said.

Bartholomew said the partners were going to get back to him with more information.

The eatery and margarita bar had been open for three years in a nearly 3,000-square-foot space inside the Rogers Building. The upper floors house 37 apartments.

Patton said Wednesday that he was confident about finding some new restaurant for the space, but did not want to discuss specifics about potential options.

“The plans are tentative and we don’t have anything concrete. There’s not really much to tell at this point,” he said.

He said he hoped to be able to announce something relatively soon.
