SARATOGA SPRINGS — The state-owned Gideon Putnam hotel remained closed Thursday following major flooding in the basement from a break in a nearby water main.
The flooding earlier this week left the hotel without gas, electric, water and telephone service, and about 60 guests were evacuated on Monday.
Officials, in a news release, estimated the hotel will remain closed until at least Feb. 15. Delaware North, which operates the historic hotel in Saratoga Spa State Park, said there would be a temporary layoff of hotel employees.
The Roosevelt Baths & Spa at the complex reopened Tuesday and is unaffected.
