QUEENSBURY -- Freda Solomon, widow of former U.S. Rep. Jerry Solomon, R-Queensbury, on Thursday endorsed Republican congressional candidate Elise Stefanik.

“She has the energy and drive to bring new ideas and new leadership to Washington,” Solomon said in a press release.

Stefanik, a businesswoman and former White House policy adviser from Willsboro, is one of three candidates seeking the Republican nomination in the 21st Congressional District, where U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, is not seeking re-election.

The other candidates are Joseph Gilbert, a retired U.S. Army major and tea party leader from St. Lawrence County; and Michael Ring, a broadcast engineer and political activist from Jefferson County.

Who cares? Are we going to see an endorsement every day? The Post Star is no more than a campaign flier.
