Despite the dull weather forecasted for this weekend, fall foliage will be brighter and better than last weekend in much of the southern Adirondacks, according to a fall foliage report from Empire State Development.
Higher elevations in the Adirondack region will experience 90 percent foliage change of its peak color Saturday and Sunday, while other areas have already experienced peak colors, according to foliage forecasters.
Colors have also changed dramatically in Saratoga County since last week and will be near peak, with 70 percent color transition, according to the report.
In Herkimer County, foliage will be be "above average brilliance," or past peak, this weekend, too, according to the report.
Bright shades of red and orange will reach climax colors in the northwestern areas of Warren County near Gore Mountain, although rain is expected for Sunday.
