BALLSTON SPA — A Hadley man who allegedly beat and seriously injured an elderly co-worker last fall was sentenced to a year in jail Wednesday in Saratoga County Court.
Leo F. Dugan Jr., 50, of Rockwell St., pleaded guilty in July to attempted second-degree assault for the incident last Oct. 31 at the Day Town Highway Department. Saratoga County Judge James Murphy sentenced him to one year in Saratoga County Jail.
Police said he and his son, Brendon Dugan, 24, assaulted the victim, who is in his 70s, over a longstanding dispute. The victim suffered a broken facial bone that required surgery.
Both Dugans were fired after their arrests. Brendon Dugan has also pleaded guilty to a felony and is awaiting sentencing.
