GLENS FALLS — A New York City woman was jailed Sunday after she was found to have more than 200 opioid painkiller pills during a traffic stop on Hudson Avenue, police said.
Tia T. Wilson, 23, of Brooklyn, was arrested after she was found to have 229 oxycodone pills of two different dosage amounts in a backpack that police searched.
Glens Falls Police said Wilson was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman from Vermont that was pulled over for having a tail light out. They checked occupants and found there was a warrant for Wilson's arrest for marijuana possession in Newburgh.
The driver, Stephanie Hathaway, 27, of Rutland, Vermont, was issued a traffic ticket and released.
Police believe Wilson had just arrived from New York City on a bus and was headed to Vermont to distribute the pills.
Wilson was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.
Glens Falls Police officers Patrick Coyne and Zack Tanner handled the case.
