CHESTER — A Pottersville couple face multiple misdemeanor charges for allegedly neglecting dogs and pigs at their home on Route 9, police said.
Casey J. Prosser, 57, and Brenda M. Prosser, 54, were charged Wednesday by State Police after troopers received a complaint about the conditions in which their animals were being kept, officials said.
They each face seven misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty and five noncriminal counts of failure to provide appropriate shelter for dogs, police records show.
Both were released, pending prosecution in Chester Town Court.
State Police were assisted by the Chester dog control officer and Warren County SPCA. State Police said the SPCA was working with the Prossers going forward to monitor the animals.
