CLIFTON PARK — Two people were arrested on drug-related charges early Friday after an early morning traffic stop on the Northway, the State Police public information website showed.
Paula Lemieux, 43, of Fort Edward, was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and a non-criminal count for having prescription drugs outside their original container, police records show. She was accused of possessing cocaine, the website showed.
Marco O. Smith, 48, of South Glens Falls was charged with misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to State Police.
They were arrested after State Police encountered them in the northbound lanes of the highway near the Clifton Park rest area around 3:30 a.m. Friday, the State Police public information website showed.
Lemieux was arraigned and released on bail bond, while Smith was issued a court appearance ticket and released.
