QUEENSBURY -- A Ballston Spa man who police said was part of a duo that stole thousands of dollars worth of tools and copper wire from Tractor Supply Co. stores around the region earlier this year has pleaded guilty to a felony in Warren County Court.
Justin E. Furgason, 33, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny for the theft of wire from the chain’s store in Queensbury in February.
He faces up to 4 years in state prison and restitution when sentenced Wednesday by Warren County Judge John Hall. He has a prior felony conviction that mandates a prison sentence in the case.
Charges are pending against a co-defendant, Ronald G. Morelli Jr., 33, of Stillwater, in Warren County. But Morelli has been sentenced to 1.5 to 3 years in prison for a similar theft from the Tractor Supply Co. store in Greenwich.
The two are also believed linked to similar thefts of wire and tools from Tractor Supply Co. stores in Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Schodack, Amsterdam, Scotia and Bennington, Vt., police said.
They are believed to have stolen tools from Sears stores in Queensbury and Wilton as well, police said.
