GLENS FALLS — A two-time felon from Queensbury was jailed last week for allegedly smashing a car window when his ex-girlfriend was inside the car and stopped at a stoplight, police said.
Chad M. Haseltine, 27, of Minnesota Avenue, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, in connection with an incident Feb. 23 on Broad Street, according to Glens Falls Police.
Police said the victim was stopped at a light when Haseltine ran up to the vehicle and tried to get in. But when he could not, he instead broke a window, Glens Falls Police said.
When the light turned green, the woman drove off, and Haseltine fled the area, police said. Glens Falls Police arrested him Feb. 27. He was sent to Warren County Jail without bail.
Glens Falls Police Officer Kirsten Lunder made the arrest.
Haseltine has two prior felony convictions, for a drug sale case and cashing stolen checks, and served a 2- to 4-year state prison sentence for the latter conviction, ending when he was discharged from parole Feb. 1.
