KINGSBURY — A Deer Run Drive woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child Monday after police found a 2-year-old wandering around an apartment complex without supervision, officials said.
Victoria L. Lapan, 21, was charged after police said the child was found on Deer Run Drive around 10:30 a.m., according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Police determined Lapan was the child's mother, and she was sleeping while the child roamed, authorities said.
Lapan was charged and released pending prosecution in Kingsbury Town Court. The child is staying with other relatives while Washington County Child Protective Services investigated.
Sheriff's deputies Kyle Kolar, Cory Hurlburt and Sgt. Michael Distasio handled the case.
