HARTFORD — A 53-year-old Hartford man was arrested Saturday for allegedly having sexual contact with an underage girl, a crime police said he reported to police himself.
James S. Walker, of Pope Hill Road, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, for an encounter with the teen on Jan. 28, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The charge alleges he had sexual contact with the teen and she was too young to legally consent.
The Sheriff's Office said Walker went to one of the agency's stations and reported the alleged encounter.
Walker was arraigned and sent to Washington County Jail for lack of bail, but posted bail late Saturday.
Sheriff's Deputy Cory Hurlburt and Investigator Kristen Hardy handled the case.
