GLENS FALLS — A homeless man was jailed Friday after he allegedly harassed a woman who has an order of protection against him, police said.
Dale P. Ireland, 55, was charged in connection with a March 7 incident on Elm Street, where people saw him accosting a woman and police were contacted, according to Glens Falls Police.
Police said the woman had an order of protection against Ireland, but he had left the area when police arrived.
He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail. He has a prior felony conviction for a 2010 attempted robbery of a mattress store.
Glens Falls Police officers Zack Tanner and Zack Flewelling handled the case.
