QUEENSBURY — A New York City man who had large quantities of cocaine and heroin when a vehicle he was in was stopped on Route 149 one day last July is headed to prison for 3 years.
Tysean J. Cooper, 27, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, for a July 1 arrest by Warren County sheriff's officers.
Cooper and the driver of the vehicle, Erin M. Simmons, 24, of Jericho, Vermont, were found to have 4.7 ounces of cocaine and 3.6 ounces of a suspected opiate powder.
Police believe the two were taking the drugs to Vermont for distribution.
Warren County Judge John Hall sentenced Cooper to 3 years in prison to be followed by 2 years on parole.
