QUEENSBURY -- A South Glens Falls man was arrested Friday for alleged food stamp fraud, police said.
Michael P. Dean, 26, of Main Street was charged with misuse of food stamps, a felony, after an investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Social Services, police said.
He was accused of failing to report his income, address change and household composition while receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
He received $1,896 in fraudulent benefits, police said.
Dean was released pending prosecution in Queensbury Town Court.
Sheriff’s Investigator Kevin W. Conine and Department of Social Services Investigator Barbara Meade handled the case.
