LAKE GEORGE — A Greene County man was charged with driving while intoxicated and other counts after he allegedly fled the scene of a crash in Lake George last week, according to State Police.
David P. McElroy, 56, of Coxsackie, was arrested after police responded to a 7:30 p.m. call about an accident on Route 9, according to the State Police public information website.
No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were listed as being involved. McElroy was arrested a half-hour later at a Route 9 motel and found to be intoxicated and driving without a license, the website showed.
He was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor DWI and ticketed for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and moving from a lane unsafely, records show.
McElroy was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.
