QUEENSBURY — A Glens Falls man was sentenced to 3.5 years in state prison Wednesday for having sexual contact with a child, court records show.
Kevin R. Sterling, 31, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, for having sexual contact with a child he knew who was under the age of 12 at the time.
Warren County Judge John Hall imposed a 3.5-year prison term, to be followed by 10 years on parole, also imposing $1,425 in fines and surcharges.
He entered a so-called "Alford Plea" in which he doesn't admit the underlying allegations, but enters a guilty plea based on the evidence against him.
Sterling was arrested last August after an investigation by Glens Falls Police and State Police.
