Police: Man issued death threat
GLENS FALLS — A Fort Edward man was arrested Monday for allegedly threatening to kill a woman, police said.
Jared N. Stone, 27, was arrested after the woman reported getting repeated voice messages from Stone through Facebook that included threats, including at least one to kill her, police said.
He was charged with aggravated family offense, a felony, and misdemeanor aggravated harassment, police records show.
Stone has a prior felony conviction for criminal contempt. He was arraigned and released, pending prosecution in City Court.
Woman pleads guilty to drug sales
QUEENSBURY — A Glens Falls woman who police said sold crack cocaine on two occasions earlier this year is headed to state prison for up to 6 years.
Jessica L. Wells, 26, of Elm Street, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, for crack sales in Glens Falls last February and April, court records show.
She faces a sentence of up to 6 years in state prison and 3 years on parole when sentenced Oct. 4 by Warren County Judge John Hall. She is being held in Washington County Jail in an unrelated drunken driving case.
Wells was arrested after an investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Man pleads guilty for return scam
QUEENSBURY — An Amsterdam man faces up to 4 years in state prison for using another person’s name when making a return at a Wal-Mart store in Queensbury.
Nelson J. Ruiz, 32, pleaded guilty to attempted forgery, a felony, for a January incident in which he used a child’s name when making a return at the store in January.
Ruiz, who has a lengthy criminal record that includes a prior felony drug conviction, faces 2 to 4 years in state prison when sentenced Oct. 25 by Warren County Judge John Hall.
Fort Ann man charged after crash
FORT ANN — A Fort Ann man was charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday night after a crash on county Route 17, police records show.
Jordan E. Osborne, 26, was charged after a 7:39 p.m., one-vehicle accident near Deweys Bridge Road, according to the State Police public information website. Police said he drove off the road and suffered a shoulder injury.
Osborne told police he had been drinking, and he was taken to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment and for a blood sample to be tested for alcohol content, officials said.
He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and ticketed for moving from his lane unsafely, the website showed. He was issued appearance tickets for Fort Ann Town Court.
