GLENS FALLS — A Lake Luzerne man who runs a landscaping business was jailed Wednesday for allegedly stealing $1,800 from a customer by taking payment for a project but not doing the work, police said.
Michael J. Nichols, 42, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny in connection with allegations that he took a downpayment to build a pond but did not do the work, according to Glens Falls Police.
Nichols operates Nichols Hardscapes of Moreau.
He was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail without bail, as he has at least two prior felony convictions that preclude bail from being set, officials said.
Glens Falls Police officers Donnie Long and Andrew Mija handled the case.
