The Upstate Conservative Coalition, a conservative political advocacy group based in Saratoga Springs, announced Thursday it has endorsed Republican congressional candidate Matt Doheny.

“Our organization believes that Mr. Doheny shares our conservative values and we hope that he will spearhead an effort to turn things around in Washington,” said Ben Potiker, the group’s president.

Doheny, an investment fund manager from Watertown, is running against U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, and Green Party candidate Donald Hassig, a political activist from St. Lawrence County, in the new 21st Congressional District, which includes Warren, Washington and northern Saratoga counties.
