QUEENSBURY -- A group of young men fishing in Halfway Brook Reservoir discovered the body of a young man in the reservoir Tuesday night, officials said.

State Police were investigating the discovery late Tuesday but foul play was not suspected. The man, whose name was not released, is believed to be a young man from Queensbury who lived nearby and was reported missing by his family several days earlier.

The reservoir, which is owned by the city of Glens Falls, is located off Peggy Ann Road. It is posted property but local residents frequently fish and bike on the property.

The man was found around 7 p.m. A campsite was found near where the body was discovered and authorities said there was evidence of drug and alcohol use at the site. The body was found in the reservoir near the site.

State Police said Wednesday that the man's cause of death was believed to be drowning, with alcohol as a contributing factor.

His name was not being released, but he was described as a Queensbury man in his 20s who lived nearby.

Yes I agree they state that the coroner believed that was the constructing factor. Assumption is not right. Just because he was sleeping pills and alcohol you didn't perform a autopsy to prove what he actually died of. I find that this one got sweep under the rug. Family should of demanded an autopsy before he is buried! RIP young man.

Sorry that drugs and alcOhol were apparently involved and sorry if the victim was someone you were close too, but some people, including myself, will find it highly relevant that drugs and alcohol were involved. Call it a cautionary tale.

I'm completely sickened that the post star and authorities would even write and disclose imformatin saying drugs and alcahol were involved...they couldn't just have a little more respect for family and loved ones. And just write accidental cause of death . I am absolutely sick by the decision to post bout drugs and alcahol when it was in fact an accident
