Average gas prices in region rise 3.1 cents in week

Average retail gasoline prices in the greater Capital Region rose 3.1 cents per gallon for regular gas in the past week, and averaged $3.62 per gallon on Sunday, according to a survey of 546 gas outlets by gas price tracker GasBuddy.

Prices on Sunday were 16.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 10.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

A website search of albanygasprices.com showed a range of prices from $3.53 to $3.59 in the Queensbury-Glens Falls area between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

The national average gas price increased by 3 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.27 per gallon, which was 13.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and is 1.7 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago.
