TICONDEROGA -- A fire that was spotted early Wednesday morning damaged a home on Pearl Street, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The blaze was reported at 12:28 a.m. in a home at the corner of Pearl and Lord Howe streets that officials said was apparently vacant. A passerby spotted it.

The home was heavily damaged, with fire damage to at least three rooms, according to the Ticonderoga Fire Department.

The cause had not been determined, and Essex County fire investigators were looking into it. Officials said there was electricity to the home.

Firefighters from Ticonderoga, Hague, Putnam and Schroon Lake were called out and remained on the scene until about 4 a.m.

More details will be posted as they become available.
