FORT EDWARD -- A 24-year-old Fort Edward man was arrested Sunday and charged with buying alcohol for two teens, officials said.

Peter Rockwell of Burgoyne Avenue was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, after an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

He is accused of buying a 30-pack of beer for one teen and a 12-pack for another, police said. The teens were 16 and 17, police said.

The two teens did not know Rockwell and approached him on the street, one giving him $30 to buy the 30-pack, officials said.

Rockwell was arraigned in Fort Edward Town Court and released on his own recognizance, with orders of protection issued barring him from contacting the teens.
